Provenance Timeline:

▪️1960: The painting was purchased in Madrid, Spain by Zuñiga a jeweler, at the time of acquisition, the painting was folded obscuring d artist's signature. Zuñiga bought the it to Manila where it was unfolded and reframed, revealing its full grandeur.

▪️1970: Zalud, a prominent art collector from Biñan Laguna acquired it from Zuñiga. The transaction included only the canvas, Salud had it reframed once more.

▪️1980: The painting was purchased by renowned couturier who reframed it in its current setting, During this period also had the painting restored. Notably, Central Bank Governor Jaime Laya expressed interest in acquiring the painting. However, owner was reluctant to sell due to fearing that the government might undervalue the artwork. To dissuade any offers, he quoted an exceptionally high price of Php750 Million keeping it beyond reach.

▪️Late 1990s to 2000s: As the owner's health declined, the painting was still held in his collection. Around this time, Pilar's write up and appraisal by renowned authorities were completed for free, providing an authoritative evaluation. This work was finalized shortly before the painting was acquired by the current ownership group in 2016.

▪️ Materials Analysis done last February 27, 2014 using Hand held portable X-ray (XRF) Apparatus was used in the analysis prepared by a Conservation Scientist Mr. Alvarez

▪️ Certificate of Authenticity signed by Mr. Gernale, former Vice Chairman & Parcel of Arts Authenticators, National Museum, Former Member of Parcel of Arts Authenticators Ayala Museum with an Appraised Value as of July 2011 at Php 450,000,000 Million

▪️ As of this date, the current value of the painting ranges from Php1 Billion to Php1.5 Billion
